ANTICIPATING THE CHRIST OF CHRISTMAS (Dec 8th)
Isaiah 9:6- “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
PROPHECY # 1–THE PROMISE OF A STRONG_______________________
Genesis 3:15- “And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your offspring and hers; He will crush you head, and you will bruise His heel.”  God promised Adam and Eve and all humanity that He would send a deliverer who would free us from Satan’s snare! Matthew 1:21
PROPHECY # 2-THE PROMISE OF A SPECIFIC ___________________________
Micah 5:2- “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” See Matthew 2:1-6.
Isn’t it amazing that God chose a small, seemingly insignificant place to be the birth place of the
Son of God! We learn from this that our Lord loves those who are often overlooked by
others.  See Acts 17:24-28; I Corinthians 1:26-29
PROPHECY # 3–THE PROMISE OF A SPECIAL________________
Isaiah 7:14- “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child
and will give birth to a son, and will call Him Immanuel.”
How special that our Savior was born in an impossible way! The virgin birth was necessary so
that Jesus could be born without a sin nature. See Luke 1:26-38.
PROPHECY # 4–THE PROMISE OF A SUFFICIENT ___________________ PERSON
  • Just think, the infant is the Infinite One!
  • He is human, yet our super– hero!
  • He is a Father who never fails!
  • He is a Prince that will bring true peace– peace with God, the peace that passes all human understanding, and one day yet future peace between all of creation! Look up Isaiah 11:1-9.
Closing questions to consider:
Am I anticipating the Christ of Christmas? Do I look for Him to come in even small ways? Do I believe God does the miraculous? Finally, am I looking forward to His second coming to bring real & lasting peace on earth?
ANSWERS:  DELIVERER, DESTINATION, DELIVERY, & DYNAMIC

THE INFLUENCE AND IMPACT OF MUSIC (Sunday Dec 1st)
Colossians 3:16- “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly as teach
and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and
spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.”
1. MUSIC IS ONE OF GOD’S GREATEST ________________
James 1:17- “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the
Father of the heavenly lights…”Can you imagine our world without music? God loves music and gave it to us to greatly bless and enrich our lives.  William Congreve, an 18th century English dramatist said “Music has charms to soothe the savage beast, to soften rocks, to bend a knotted oak.”
2. MUSIC IS POWERFUL AND GREATLY AFFECTS OUR______________________
Read I Samuel 16:14-23 & II Samuel 6
Think of how powerful music truly is? It calmed crazed Saul and it motivated King David
to dance before God and the people of God with all his might.  Music is used as therapy for many hurting people. In some hospitals and care facilities music is used for comfort and healing.
In great contrast, evil music has led to horrific acts of evil.
3. WE MUST DEVELOP HEALTHY ________________ WHEN LISTENING TO AND PLAYING MUSIC.
I Corinthians 10:23, 31- “Everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial. So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”  Read Philippians 4:8 & Psalm 149-150.
What kind of music do you listen to? Is it positive and uplifting? Does it honor God and
others? Lyrics are so very powerful and what we think about it greatly transforms our lives!
Is music a tool or trap in your life?

2. THE RIGHT WAY TO THANK GOD
A. Choose to focus on what you have and learn to _________________your blessings!
Psalm 103:2- “Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.”  The words “think” and “thank” come from the same root word! Do you ever stop to really think about His goodness?

It strengthens our muscle mass, bone density as well aiding in digestion and elimination.

Christ-like ______________________is more valuable than exercise.
I Corinthians 9:24-27, and Hebrews 12:1-2
