GOD’S SALVATION IS WORTH SUBMITTING TO AND SHARING! (Sat 25th) TEXT: Romans 10
1.      MANY PEOPLE ARE ZEALOUS & _________________ABOUT GOD, BUT STILL MISS OUT ON HIS GREAT SALVATION-verses 1-5.
Romans 10:2- “I can testify about them that they have zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.”  See Isaiah 64:6, Matthew 7:21-23, & Philippians 3:1-10.
     We can very sincere and passionate in our beliefs, but be seriously wrong and deluded- see Luke 18:10-14 & Proverbs 14:12.  We need God’s royal robe of righteousness, not our own raggedy robe of self-righteousness! 
2.      GOD’S PLAN OF SALVATION IS VERY ____________________- verses 6-13.
Romans 10:13- “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
     Salvation is a gift. There is absolutely nothing we can do to earn or deserve it. It is totally free and available to all who will simply and humbly ask the Lord to save them. See Matthew 11:28-30, John 6:35-37 & Revelation 22:14-17.  Jesus offers His great salvation to everyone, but the invitation must be responded to. No response is a response- it is a rejection of Jesus!
3.  WE MUST _________________THE GOSPEL WITH PRAYER, PASSION & PURPOSE! Verses 1, 14-17.  Romans 10:15- “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.”
  • Do we pray for God’s heart of compassion for others? Are we praying for the salvation of family members and friends on a regular basis?
  • Are we sharing our testimony to others? Are we inviting people to events and services? Do we ask them the three great questions- How did we get here? Why are we here? Where are we going after this life?
     Billy Graham said “The evangelistic harvest is always urgent. The destiny of men and nations is always being decided. Every generation is strategic. We are not responsible for the past generation, and we cannot bear the full responsibility for the next one: but we do have our generation.”

THE PRINCE’S PATHWAYS TO PEACE– JOHN 14
(Sun July 26th) 
PATHWAY TO PEACE # 1– PEACE COMES WHEN WE ______________ ON CHRIST ALONE AND HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM! Read John 14:1-11.
John 14:1— “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.”
Isaiah 26:3—“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in you.”
     No Jesus, no peace. Know Jesus, know peace! After all, He is the Prince of Peace. He gives us peace with God, the peace of God, & a peace that passes all understanding. He gives us peace to face our fears, failures, foes, and the future. All He wants is our complete confidence! Does He have that? 
PATHEWAY TO PEACE # 2– PEACE COMES WHEN WE REALIZE THE ______________GOD HAS GIVEN US!
First, we have a Holy Helper! John 14:26- “And I will ask the Father to give you another Helper to be with you forever –the Spirit of truth.”
     The Greek word for Helper is paraclete which means “One who is called alongside to help.” The Holy Spirit helps us live with purpose, power, and peace! He is our constant companion and source of strength! Look up Galatians 5:16-26.  Next, we have a hotline to Heaven! John 14:13-14- “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You will ask me for anything in my name and I will do it.”  What more do we need than a 24 hour hotline to Heaven where we can receive help at the sound of a cry! See Heb 4:14-16 & II Peter 1:3-4
PATHWAY TO PEACE # 3– PEACE COMES WHEN WE DO WHAT IS _______________IN GOD’S SIGHT!  John 14:15,21-23, Philippians 4:6-9, & Colossians 3:12-15
     We must learn to think right and do right if we are going to be right.  See Psalm 85:8-10, Psalm 119:165, Isaiah 57:18-21.  Obedience always leads to great blessing!  God’s peace is not the absence of conflict & chaos, it is God’s calm & confident assurance in the midst of it all!  Thomas a Kempis the author of “The Imitation of Christ” said “All men desire peace, but very few desire those things that make for peace.”
 ANSWERS: RELY, RESOURCES & RIGHT.
 
GOD’S WAYS ARE SO MUCH HIGHER THAN OUR WAYS! (Sat July 11th) TEXT: Romans 9
1.      PAUL’S GREAT __________________FOR ISRAEL- verses 1-4a.
Romans 9:2-4a- “I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race, the people of Israel.”
  • Do we have a genuine and great burden for those who do not know Christ? Do we truly believe in the glory of Heaven and the awfulness of Hell?
See Matthew 9:35-38. We need to pray for and cultivate Christ’s heart of compassion for others!  Challenge all of us to pray more faithfully for those who need Christ-I Timothy 2:1-4
2.      ISRAEL’S MANY __________________________-Romans 9:4-6 & Genesis 12:1-3.
God has so richly blessed the nation of Israel. They were given the Law, the Scriptures and our Savior!
They were blessed to be a blessing. Those who opposed and cursed Israel paid a great price and those who support and bless Israel are blessed.
  • Do I appreciate the nation of Israel and pray for their peace and protection? See Psalm 122:6-9.
3.      WE NEED TO BELIEVE IN THE _______________________ BETWEEN GOD’S SOVEREIGNTY AND MAN’S RESPONSIBILITY- Romans 9:7-33.
Romans 9:15-16- “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion. It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.”
     God has a sovereign plan for all things and all people. That does not nullify our great responsibility before Him to trust and obey.  Compare Romans 9:19-21 with Isaiah 55:8-9. It is always a foolish to question God and His higher and holy ways.  God always sees the bigger picture. When we trust the sovereignty of Heaven more we will not fear the calamities of earth as much.  When you can’t trace His hand, we can always trust His loving and faithful heart- See Job 13:15, 42:1-6.

FASTING TO FUEL YOUR FAITH! (Sun July 12th)
1.   GOD ENCOURAGES AND _____________________US TO FAST.
Read Matthew 6:16-18. Jesus twice in this passage said “When you fast” implying that He expects us to fast as a spiritual discipline just like giving and praying.
  • Why is this discipline of fasting so ignored and neglected in our day and age? Why don’t I fast more often? If Jesus and the early Christians saw their desperate need for it, why don’t we?
2.   THE BIBLE IS FILLED WITH _______________OF VARIOUS TYPES OF FASTING THAT EXPLAIN WHY WE SHOULD FAST. 
FAST IN ORDER TO ________________WITH SIN—Leviticus 16, Jonah 3 and Joel 2:12-13.
FAST IN ORDER TO ______________________A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE—Daniel 1:1-15.
Ben Franklin said, “The best medicines are resting and fasting.”
FAST WHEN FACING GREAT __________________. See II Chronicles 20:1-22 , Esther 4-7 & Mark 9:14-29.
FAST WHEN NEEDING TO MAKE BIG_______________. Look up Acts 9:1-18, 13:1-3, 14:23.
FAST IN ORDER TO ______________YOUR FLESH AND DEPEND FULLY ON THE LORD.  See I Corinthians 6:12-20, 7:1-5, 9:24-27, 10:31
  • Matthew 4:4- “Man shall not live by bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
  • John 4:34- “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.”
  • Romans 13:14- “Rather clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.”
  • FASTING HELPS US TO FOCUS ON GOD AND FUEL OUR FAITH! 
POINT TO PONDER: “Throughout the ages, those who have sought to know God and desired to enter deeper spiritual realms and gifting, employed fasting as a powerful and essential tool.” Dr. Don Colbert in his book “Toxic Relief.”

GOD—THE TRUE SOURCE OF FREEDOM & EQUALITY
(July 5th)
POINT TO PONDER: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
(Declaration of Independence)
1. GOD CREATED US ALL ______________IN VALUE & WITH SPECIAL RIGHTS AS HUMAN BEINGS MADE IN HIS IMAGE.
Galatians 3:28— “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”  John 3:16, Acts 17:24-28, Romans 2:11 & Revelation 5:6-10
God is the greatest supporter of human rights!  The ground is level at the cross!
  • Am I full of pride and prejudice? Do I see people the way the Lord does?
2. JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN BRING TRUE ___________________IN LIFE.
John 8:34,36— “Jesus replied, I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. So, if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”  Galatians 5:1,13-14, I John 3:4-10
In Christ we are free from sin’s penalty, power and one day yet future—its presence. We are now free to serve God & others instead of living under the tyranny of self & Satan.
  • Am I walking in & enjoying the freedom Christ purchased?
Jesus Christ is the ultimate bondage breaker. When we recognize how much we have been forgiven by God, it is so much easier to forgive others. See Ephesians 4:31-32
3. GOD IS THE ONE WHO ENABLES US TO____________________ALL THINGS.
Psalm 84:11— “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor: no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”  Ecclesiastes 2:1-25, Matthew 5:3-16, & I Timothy 6:17
  • Have we bought into the lie that God is a cosmic kill joy?
  • Can we find satisfaction, significance, security & salvation outside of Christ?
  • Am I glorifying God and enjoying Him?
  • Am I daily tasting and seeing how good God is by my trust and obedience? See Psalm 34:1-8.

DON’T COMPLAIN– IT DISHONORS HIS HOLY NAME 
Philippians 2:14— “Do everything without complaining or arguing.” (Sat June 27th) 
I. COMPLAINING IS A COMMON YET VERY________________________AND CONTAGIOUS PROBLEM WITH HUMAN BEINGS!  Numbers 14:27— “How long will this wicked community grumble against me?”  Exodus 15:22-16:3, Numbers 11:1-10, 14:1-4, 21:4-9
     The Greek word for complaining means to grumble and murmur in a low tone of voice.  Human nature tends to be more negative, critical and full of complaints. Negativity is cancer to our spirit!
2. COMPLAINING IS A SLAM ON GOD’S _____________________AND REALLY IS TREATING HIM WITH CONTEMPT!  Numbers 14:11— “How long will these people treat me with contempt?”  Numbers 14:26-38, 21:4-5
    Do we realize we are slandering God’s Holy Name when we complain and are critical? Can we do a better job of things?  When we complain we are buying into Satan’s lie that God is somehow holding out on us! When we complain we are throwing dirt in God’s face and are denying His great grace.
Complaining also hinders our testimony to others– see Philippians 2:14-16 
3. JESUS CHRIST CAN _______________US FROM CRANKY PEOPLE INTO CONTENTED CHRISTIANS.  Philippians 2:13— “For it is God who is at work in you to will and to act according to His good purpose.” Philippians 4:4-13, I Timothy 6:6-10, & Hebrews 12:15
     Daily we have a choice to rejoice. What can’t be cured can be endured!  Why complain when we can consistently call on and praise His dear name?  Do I have stinking thinking or Scripture fueled and Spirit filled thinking?  See Ephesians 5:18-20 & Colossians 3:16-17.  God calls us as believers to be Spirit led and Scripture fed!!!
CUTE QUOTE TO CONSIDER: Mark Twain said, “Don’t complain and talk about all your problems—80 percent of people don’t care; the other 20 percent will think you deserve them.”

WHY ALL THIS EVIL AND SUFFERING? (Sun June 28th)
John 9:2— “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents that he was born blind?” 
1. MANY TIMES _________________IS THE CAUSE OF SUFFERING!
I Peter 5:8— “Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”  John 8:44, 10:10, Ephesians 6:10-18 & Revelation 12:7-12
     Our enemy is strong, slanderous and sneaky. One of the biggest tricks is to get people to believe he isn’t real. Satan constantly tries to get us to doubt God’s Word, worth and ways.  We have the strength of God’s presence, the shield of His protection, the sword of His promises & the support of His people.
Am I using His armor? Am I standing in the truth that sets us free?
2. OFTEN IT IS OUR ______________________CHOICES!
John 5:14— “Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.”  John 8:34, Romans 2:8-9, 3:10-12,16-17, 7:21-25
     Charles Spurgeon said “The smallest sin that ever creeps into your heart is a robber seeking to kill and destroy. It is deadly poison to your spirit. It injures your faith, withers up your peace, weakens you in prayer and prevents your example from being beneficial to others.”  If we are honest, we are often our own worst enemy!! 
3. NO MATTER THE REASON FOR SUFFERING, GOD ALLOWS IT TO ______________HIS GLORY, POWER AND GOODNESS!
John 9:3— “This happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.”
Romans 8:28— “We know that God causes all things to work for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose.”  John 11:40, Acts 16, Romans 8:18, Ephesians 2:10, James 1:2-5
     God’s Word teaches us to welcome trials not as foes but as friends.  God allows suffering to grow our faith, compassion & character.  Someone said, “Adversity is God’s University.”  Every miracle was preceded by some impossible situation.  Don’t look at the mountain. Instead look at the mountain mover!  Jim Cymbala said “God does His most stunning work when things seem hopeless. Wherever there is pain, suffering and desperation, Jesus is.”
